I think the big feature is you can assign categories to your posts, plus it has some sort of drag-and-drop template builder. i looked into it, but in the end I prefer my own hosting.

I haven't made the switch to Beta. All I know is that every time I want to view comments on a Beta blog I have to click on an annoying "this page contains secure and non-secure items blah blah blah" button in a pop-up. It may be something I can fix in my browser, but I haven't looked into it.

I find it daunting. I don't think they've ironed out all the kinks in it. I've got a page that's more or less a test page, but I've noticed that when I fiddle around with the template, and go to save, sometimes it won't save. So I'm not in too much of a hurry to change, even though I do prefer the category feature it has. I'd rather log in to post comments, it only takes a few seconds, rather than have to spend weeks sorting out template issues.

I find beta blogger pretty good.

It allows categories/tags, as others have said, which is good.

From a design point of view the tinkering of the sidebars and adding of html links like your sidebar button is much easier. It has a wizard that handles adding page elements and a drag and drop page layout screen.

Anastasia is right, sometimes it does have problems but that's only when the html is wrong, which is hardly blogger's fault! And it's allowed someone unfamiliar with html like me to get a lot further than we would've without it.

At first, and unknown to me when I converted, you couldn't post between beta and non-beta blogs, but they've resolved that now. I'm very happy with it.

It's completely different code isn't it?

I haven't tried inserting other code into the template section to see if it works.
