State Of The Community

I hope everyone is returning invigorated from their respective summer breaks. The Sex blog world seems to have become a little stagnant of late with yet more blogs disappearing or grinding to a halt and contributions to SBC being a thin on the ground too.
Nil Desperandum.

You may have noticed that Blogstormz has disappeared from the sidebar of this blog. It’s been turned into an advertising/faux search site. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find sites on which to promote your blog. Most of the directories are flooded with commercial sites or simply don’t provide any traffic.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m getting fed up of stumbling across sites pretending to be blogs which are actually just posts listing links to porn sites. So if any of you have any new ideas … :)

I noticed the same thing and removed the Blogstormz logo from my own site.

I do think that it's a shame because it was a good resource, but had been sliding from before 'New' blogger came out of Beta.

Obviously ABH is a fantastic resource to promote your own work, and places likeminded bloggers in touch with each other, The Sugasm offers a similar service, but in a different way.

Various lists like the lic List, blogtopsites and Cunning Linguist provide a little traffic.

Sexoteric and Fleshbot provide excellent support to bloggers by highlighting work that the people who run it like.

Maybe we need a discussion on other ways to promote the work of individual bloggers and / or the Community at large.

The old Blogstormz used to work because it was run by bloggers. They did the work- both posting the stories, and the links. But it got too big, and too time consuming for those that were running it.

I can see something similar to SBC but with different purpose working as a both a new directory and as a place to post about stories. (Dual linking blogs.)

There would need to be some clear guidelines how to post stories though.

a very interesting study at this site. Seems like blogspot is overt 75% spam. http://www.infoniac.com/hi-tech/google-blogs-spam.html

There are already sites that allow you to post your posts, and your site, and a profile of yourself.

Yah Adult Blog Hub and Sugasm! I like and use both to find new blogs to entertain. But I am surprised at some of the blogs which have ended recently, although as I haven;t posted much for a while, there are some who may think that about me also!
